This Is The Most ANNOYING Thing in Disney World Right Now

Published: February 14, 2024

You know when your sibling did something super annoying growing up, and you’d be like, “I love you, but I REALLY don’t like you right now”?

Magic Kingdom

That’s how we occasionally feel about Disney World. 😬 As much as we love the parks and all things Disney World, there are a few things about visiting Disney World that are a little… inconvenient. Okay, we won’t sugarcoat it. Some things are just annoying. However, they aren’t so annoying that we’ll stop visiting the parks, you feel me? The team here at DFB had a little rant sesh — here are the things we find to be the MOST annoying at Disney World right now.

It goes without saying that we’re only being halfway serious. Well, three-quarters of the way serious. Okay, let’s rant!

Having to wait for a ride back to the TTC after fireworks.

It’s a tale as old as time. It’s the end of the night in Magic Kingdom, the fireworks have just ended, and everybody and their momma is headed for the monorail, ferryboat, or buses.

Monorail

The wait can be long and grueling. We’re not exactly sure how much Disney could even do to combat this, but we’re complaining anyway. Our feet hurt! We usually end up staying in Magic Kingdom for a while after the fireworks to allow those crowds to disperse. This is a great time to take advantage of those shorter waits in the park as a lot of folks are beginning the journey back to the hotel!

All the construction.

Construction is running RAMPANT at Disney World right now, which is truly a double-edged sword. The good news is that new things and refreshed areas are coming our way. The bad news is that right now it’s sort of ugly and inconvenient.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

The largest construction projects are currently taking place in EPCOT (CommuniCore Hall and Plaza) and in Magic Kingdom (Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.) With Disney’s recent park expansion announcements, it seems like we’ll just have to get used to all the construction.

Parking inconsistencies at the hotels.

Recently, security guards have cracked down on allowing visitors to park at Disney World hotels. In the past, folks were able to park in the hotel lots to run in and grab quick service orders. Now, you MUST have a reservation at a table service restaurant in order to park in most cases.

Parking isn’t as easy as it used to be

IN MOST CASES. At the Monorail resorts, Riviera, BoardWalk, and other deluxe hotels, security is very strict about this. However, they don’t mention it at all over at hotels like the All Star Resorts, Pop Century, and other value hotels. It’s hard to guess which hotels will allow you to park for quick service and which ones won’t, so we recommend playing it safe and not trying to park unless you have a valid table service reservation.

Annual Passholders still need reservations.

On January 9th, 2024, park pass reservation requirements went away for most guests.

Annual Pass

These changes didn’t apply to Annual Passhholders, though, as they still need a valid park pass reservation before 2PM each day. (Everyone needs reservations all day long on the weekends if visiting Magic Kingdom.) Disney also removed park hopping restrictions on the same day, so anyone can park hop anywhere after they scan into a park. So… a lot of folks are wondering WHY it even matters for Annual Passholders! If they’re just going to scan in to another park almost immediately, why have a restriction in place?
