Splash Mountain vs. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: HUGE Changes After One Year
Published: February 9, 2024
It’s been just a little more than a year since Splash Mountain closed at Disney World, on January 22nd, 2023.
The ride in Magic Kingdom is being transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which will be opening this year! When this year? Well, we don’t know, but we do know that Disney used to say “late 2024,” and that changed recently — making us think the ride could be done sooner than first expected.
We check out the construction on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure every day, so sometimes in seeing incremental changes, we forget just how much change has happened over the past year, but when you compare the Splash Mountain photo to the state of the ride today, it’s easy to see the enormous changes!
Beyond all the foilage transforming this “mountain” into the bayou, we have recently seen some big additions to the ride, including a weathervane...
And colorful lanterns hung at the top of the ride’s big drop.
We also got to watch a painter working in the flume after the big drop this week!
And we can’t wait to see what’s happening next! Keep following us here at DFB for the latest on the new ride!
