Splash Mountain Closed for Refurbishment

Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom is currently closed for its annual refurbishment.  No, there was no announcement that they were beginning the transformation from Song of the South to Princess and the Frog.  Also, with an announced closing of January 10, 2022 to February 10, 2022, I would assume that it would be the annual refurb that is done during this time period due to lower crowds and colder temperatures.
