This year’s menu at Paradise Garden Grill features a variety of dishes, including a Sisig Burrito, Chicken Musakhan, a Loaded Baked Potato, and a Pistachio Cheesecake for dessert!

We’re starting out our food tour at Paradise Garden Grill with the Sisig Burrito. This burrito is full of Seasoned pork, onions, serrano peppers, garlic fried rice, scrambled egg, and marinated tomatoes with a side of chicharrones and vinegar dipping sauce. You can try it for $13.99.

Sisig Burrito

Despite the menu description, our dish did NOT come with any dipping sauce, which was a little disappointing. That said, we did get a lime wedge to give our snack a little kick of acidity. The first taste that hit us was the spice from the serrano peppers, followed by a hint of vinegar in the sauce of the pork. This meal was quite filling, and the flavors worked well together. The pork is moist, and the veggies really add the perfect amount of rich flavor. The chicharrones are SUPER SALTY and pretty flavorless, honestly. If you can’t handle spice, this is probably not a good choice.

This was a filling meal!

Next, we checked out the Chicken Musakhan. This dish is a roasted spiced half chicken and sumac stewed onions on flatbread with a Mediterranean salad and a garlic yogurt dipping sauce. It’s a BIG serving, and it’s $18.49.

Chicken Musakhan

We had high hopes for this one! The chicken seasoning is delicious. However, the chicken itself was super dry. It doesn’t come with the dipping sauce noted on the menu, so maybe that would help. This dish is NOT cheap, and the meat-to-bone ratio is not worth $18.49. The salad on the side is a refreshing Mediterranean-type salad, but overall this is not a kid-friendly meal and it’s not easy to eat, either. If you’re visiting the festival, we think this is a safe item to skip.

We were not in love with this one

The Loaded Baked Potato is plant-based and is filled with seasoned steak tips and BBQ baked beans topped with cheese sauce, tangy slaw, and green onions. It’s $13.99 for this dish.

Loaded Baked Potato

The potato itself was excellent! But the different toppings were both a hit and a miss. Remember how we said this was plant-based? Well, those seasoned steak tips basically tasted like fake beef jerky (it’s not real meat, obviously). The texture was off and, we were not a fan. The potato could have stood alone without the steak, in our opinion! Luckily, we LOVED the beans and the sweet BBQ flavor much needed here. The cheese is a good balance to the sweet BBQ flavor. This was a pretty good option!

And for dessert, we wrapped it up with the Pistachio Cheesecake, available for $6.75. It’s described as a New York-style pistachio cheesecake, and it looks pretty good, right?

Pistachio Cheesecake

OK, this was a very tasty little treat. The crust is a little too soft and is more like a cake than a hard crust. The cheesecake is rich and creamy, but the texture isn’t quite what we typically see in a normal cheesecake. That said, we really liked this treat! Give it a try if you’re in the area.

The festival drink this year is a Pineapple-Melon Cocktail made with Melon Liqueur, pineapple juice, and a splash of citrus. This one is priced at $18.

Pineapple-Melon Cocktail

This is a WIN! Beware — you can’t really taste the alcohol here. It reminded us of a Dole Whip float (without the Dole Whip) — like a yummy pineapple juice! It’s super refreshing, but the price is way too high for a really good pineapple juice. If you’re willing to splurge, this is a fun option!

This booth came with some mixed reviews. There were some tasty little treats, but also some seriously overpriced items here. If you’re looking for some Food & Wine Festival options that will keep you nice and full, this is a great booth to check out. But if you’re in the mood for some quality, flavorful eats, you might want to keep looking.
