PHOTOS: Peevy’s Polar Pipeline Frozen Coke Stand with References to ‘The Rocketeer’

After learning that Disney will be offering frozen slushies at the all-new Ice Cold Hydraulics snack stand along Grand Avenue, we decided it would be a great time to take some photos of the Peevy’s Polar Pipeline frozen coke stand near Echo Lake. While Disney World hasn’t said anything about the future of this location, it would be a bit redundant once the new Ice Cold Hydraulics opens (and we all know how the story of redundant locations ends).
Peevy’s Polar Pipeline Frozen Coca-Cola Concoctions is located in the Echo Lake section of the park, on the back side of the Keystone Clothiers shop. Peevy’s Polar Pipeline is not included in the My Disney Experience app, and the hours are not posted anywhere. It’s typically open during the middle of the day, but might not open at all during the slowest times of the year.
Here’s a look at the current menu and pricing. The only unique offering Peevy’s Polar Pipeline would have once the Ice Cold Hydraulics location opens is the Fanta Wild Cherry frozen drink. Other than that, Ice Cold Hydraulics will offer the same frozen drinks and more.
Peevy’s Polar Pipeline is a favorite amongst fans of the 1991 movie The Rocketeer thanks to a couple of nods to the film. On the left side of the location, guests can spot the helmet and jetpack of the title character, also known as Cliff Secord.
The Rocketeer has a connection to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or rather, Disney-MGM Studios. During the summer of 1991, the nightly Sorcery in the Sky Fireworks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was enhanced to feature a special scene to promote “The Rocketeer.” The show began with a musical tribute to the Golden Age of Hollywood, and just as the music transitioned to become more modern, the Rocketeer appeared on a platform in front of the Chinese Theater to chants of “Rocketeer! Rocketeer!” He then ignited his jetpack and swirled about high up in front of the theater.
This special addition to Sorcery in the Sky Fireworks only lasted one summer.
On the right side of the location, guests can spot a flag for Bigelow’s Air Circus. The air circus was a show of stunt pilots and actually led by Jock Lindsey (after the events of The Rocketeer). If that name sounds familiar, that’s because Jock Lindsey has a fictional hanger-turned-bar at Disney Springs.
So there you have it! Peevy’s Polar Pipeline is a fun little spot with some deep-cut nods to a movie that doesn’t have a lot of representation in the Disney theme parks anymore, and might even have less should the location go away when Ice Cold Hydraulics opens soon.
