Modifications Made to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride Vehicle Logs

Published: February 20, 2024

As we continue towards the opening season of “Summer” for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, sporadic testing continues as crews test and verify the ride vehicles. While visiting Magic Kingdom today, we noticed just under a dozen logs stacked up in the splashdown u-turn plainly visible to guests visiting the park.

In total, there were 10 ride vehicles and no water in the flume to push them along. This was our first good look at the vehicles since the retheme of the ride from Splash Mountain to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

As a reminder, here’s what the ride vehicle logs looked like when the attraction was still operating as Splash Mountain.

And here’s a look at the ride vehicles as spotted today at Magic Kingdom.

The biggest (and maybe only) difference is that the Brer Rabbit carving has been removed from the front of the log. Here’s a look back at the carving from our Splash Mountain Farewell article.

And here’s a closer look at where the carving was removed following the retheme to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Here’s a look at more details of the ride vehicle, which appears to be largely unchanged. For a water ride, the logs were pretty good at staying afloat, but they don’t have a perfect record. Hopefully, Disney was able to address some of the seaworthiness issues.

A closer look reveals that these logs appear to be rejected for one reason or another. They don’t appear to be very clean and a lot have paint imperfections, so hopefully that will be addressed before it opens.
